wet n wild

My favorite default eyeshadow trio as of late is Wet n' Wild's Mega Eyes Trio: Mojave Mauve

This is great daytime/work makeup.
At 2.99 for this trio (Walgreens), I sure bought 2 more of these....

Venetian Violets

Amazon Greens

My camera battery died before I was able to take more swatch photos. :(

But I can tell you that these shadows are awesome! They're very pigmented, maybe a little bit of fallout, but its all about how you apply them. The color combos are great. And you can smoke it up with some black shadow to make it a sexy night time look...

I think I will pick up another one today while I wait for my prescription to be filled. :)

Egyptian Sands
Pretty, neutral browns.

Me doing my best beyonce single ladies dance move...........
How this is relevant?

......I'm wearing mojave mauve! :)

a thing i really like..

Forever 21.

I don't care if you think its ugly.

thefaceshop

I read about these korean brand masks somewhere. I found out they were available at walgreens and I was intrigued enough to go out and buy them...

...and they're awesome!

The Fresh Fruit Lemon Mask is for hydrating and refreshing dull skin (the one my sister used).
The Vita B is for moisturizing, brightening, and fighting acne (the one I used).

I know... super sexy awesome.

So hilarious. Do you like her headband?!

My skin felt very refreshed! And it felt abnormally soft and smooth when I woke up this morning too.

I can't really know how effective these masks are for the health of your skin, but all I know is, they're really fun and its a nice pampering treatment. Like taking a bubble bath. And you look awesomely ridiculous.

I just wanted to post this picture up because she doesn't look that ridiculous all the time :)

cake.

I made a trip back to Portland for my dads birthday and chinese new years WoOhoO!

There really is no shopping for my dad because he doesn't need or want anything. So when in doubt...bake!

I decided to make a coconut cake with cream cheese frosting :)

It is a little sloppy, I admit. But hey, its all going to the same place anyway. And as long as it tastes good while getting there...

A lot of coconut cake recipes I came across were pretty difficult. It took a while for me to find a recipe that didn't require super luxurious and obscure ingredients, and a lot of ingredients for that matter. The recipe I used was from Epicurious. Just click on the link to see the recipe! It's pretty simple and most of the ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. More importantly, it tastes awesome! :)

BTW
The website didn't have instructions for the cream cheese frosting, but I am no stranger to the best frosting ever. I just used 16 oz. of soft cream cheese, a stick of butter, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, some cream of coconut, and lots of confectioners sugar... Whipped that all up and VOILA... frosting. The amount of each ingredient is really up to your taste though.

PS.
I couldn't find "canned cream of coconut" (which the recipe calls for) at safeway. I really tried hard to stay away from obscure ingredients. But I found cream of coconut in a bottle in the margarita/pina coloda mixers section. It works just fine.

some more things

I know its annoying when people refer to shopping as their weekly cardio, but I have to admit, (window) shopping is my favorite form of exercise (I mean, you're burning the same amount of calories walking as you are jogging. Its just more efficient to jog. duh. But you're carrying clothes you want to try on and and you're juggling the clothes you want to keep while searching for more precious treasures. AND carrying a huge ass bag with all your crap in it too!)

So while I was working out today, I found the most awesome pair of heels at Forever21 for $13.99. I wish I could show you, but they aren't for sale on the website, and I am too lazy to grab them out of my car to take a picture (next post I will share for sure).

I really can't describe to you what kind of shoe it is, all I know is, they are cute enough for me to purchase the only pair they had left, a size 6 pair (I am a size 7.5). I know. But I mean... 14 dollars!!! I figure it'll be good for sitting events (movies, happy hour, your moms...) where I am sitting (clever, i know) for the majority of the time, but I have the opportunity to show them off while taking frequent, short distance trips to the bathroom. weeeeooweee.

I know I'll only be able to stand the excruciating pain once (I have the vain hope my feet will magically shrink, or they'll amazingly stretch out if I wear them enough). Then begrudgingly give them away to my sister who is a size 5.5. But she will be more able to give them the attention they deserve.

Which just goes to show how much I love them.

Anyway...on to some more things...

Star Ling 'Motto 2' Boot

Almost a little too "combat-y" but I think they can really make an outfit. I guess this is one of those items (to me) that fall under the categories "ugly cute" and "something I'm not sure I can pull off". But I still want, nonetheless.

I peeked in the PINK! store because this swim suit caught my eye. And I'm like.. "wtf its suppose to snow this weekend and they're already putting out the swim suits?" But its still super hot. It'll be even hotter against nice tanned skin (something I do not have at the moment ugh) Holla! But there is no way I'm paying full price for it now when I know it'll be on sale come spring time. Which makes absolutely NO sense, but trust me...it will.

I wish I had more things to share, but I can't think of any more.
next time.

some things.

I was online window shopping and I came across this lovely, yet simple jersey t-shirt style dress at asos.com.

I love the low back detail, rolled sleeves, and the front pocket. I like how the girl in the grey is wearing it. Its very slouchy, loose fitting whereas the girl in the black is more form fitting. I purchased the grey one because the color and the details pop more. I think it is fairly cheap (it was only $35 with shipping included, no tax). It's typically what a tshirt dress from American Apparel would cost and I am all AA-ed out. about 75% of my closet is filled with AA gear ( I can't get enough of their tri blends and deep Vs, but its time to stop!)

Some other notable asos finds I will save up for and possibly purchase... :)

ASOS Zip-Through Sweat Dress

Not sure which color, but it seems like a very versatile piece. Perfect for lounging around and running errands. Or it can be dressed up with some heels and jewelry. :)

ASOS Waffle Grandad Top

I really like the outfit. All neutrals, simple with a muted sexxxiness. Not sure if I would purchase this top from asos, as I could probably find a "dupe" somewhere else for cheaper. PS. I love the belt!

Thats all for now!

doop doop doopity doop

Along with my quest for the perfect foundation (still have not found it...), I am on the quest for the perfect (nighttime) jean.

My favorite day time jean as of now is Sevens Roxanne Skinny Jean.

What I love even more about them is I only paid $70 dollars for them at Nordstrom Rack on Black Friday :) (They are $149 at Shopbop.com) WoOp WooOP!

I've been wearing these everyday, and almost every night I actually go out. I do not want to wear them out as I probably won't find another pair of these for 70 dollars.

So now I am on the search for a darker pair of jeans that I can wear when I go out.

I've had my eye on J Brand Jeans lately.

12" Pencil Leg Stretch Jean

I've tried these on at Nordstroms and Mercer and everytime I try them, they just don't feel right. But they are the exact color I want and the exact look I am going for. But they make my ass dissappear. And they are too expensive ($159).

So I went to urbanoutfitters to take a look at their BDG skinnies. I have a pair in a similiar almost exact color as the J Brands above, but they are old and a bit big and saggy in the ass for me. I figured I need a new size and a new pair. When I went to try them on, they looked exactly the same as the Jbrands. Even the pockets. Even the way they made my ass dissappear :( But only at $49. I held off on purchasing them because they didn't have the size I needed. Good thing I guess because I should still search around a little more.

I wish I could find the pair on urban's site, but they are no where to be found! So odd. But really, just look at the pictures above. They look just like that, but for 100+ dollars less.

I tried Joe's Jeans. No luck.
I looked at some more Sevens, but they didn't have the color I was looking for.

I think my next destination will be the Rack considering I had such good luck the last time I was there looking for jeans..

Maybe I should have started there first. Oh well.

happy new yearz

I did not get a chance to actually do an update on the skinfx skin prep primer as quickly as I thought. I did not take any photos for the sole purpose of the update, but I thought I would share some NYE photos to supplement the update (because I did wear the HD and SkinPrep that night)... :)

blahblah.

I feel like the Skin Prep helped with the flakiness, but I still felt like I had to put some extra lotion on top of the foundation around the chin/upper lip area. I think I will try not to put so many layers of serums and creams/moisturizers before I put on the Skin Prep next time. See if it works better over just a light moisturizer.

I'm starting to really like the HD foundation though despite the flaky woes (they're minor ones now though..). I will probably go to various sephora's and get some more samples before I even start thinking about buying a bottle ($45!!).

Thanks to flash and a good camera, my skin doesn't look too bad and I'm sure the HD has something to do with it too...

Best dance partner ever.
